The St. Matthew Luther Church member served on the school board of Lockport's District #92 from 1964 to 1976. He also also a member of American Legion Post #243 in Lemont, the American Angus Association and the Will County Farm Bureau.

- Everett Stanley Peebles, 76, of Lemont. Since 1976, the husband, father and grandfather owned and operated General Surface Hardening in Chicago. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
