Downers Grove Gives Thanks: Readers Share The Reasons They're Thankful This Year

It's here: That special day when most people gather around the table with loved ones to enjoy a feast and give thanks for the year that was. 

Truth be told, times are still tough for a lot of people. The economy is still shaky, and a lot of people are struggling to make ends meet (including some of us lucky enough to be employed).

But Downers Grove clearly still has plenty of reasons to give thanks; here's what some of you had to say on the Downers Grove Patch Facebook page:

What are you thankful for this year?

Sharon R: The great ER team at Good Sam who saved our 11-year-old daughter's life last week

Karen B: The blessings of a loving God who has provided more for us than we could ever have imagined. God Bless America, please, even when our actions don't seem to be so good. For all of those blessings, we are truly thankful.

So what about your Downers Grove Patch editor? Well, this year, I'm thankful for a lot of things: My hilarious, loving, loyal family; my boyfriend; my best friends; a new apartment; my job; and having the opportunity to serve this lovely community.
