Moms Talk: What Do You Think of Clothing for Young Girls?

With clothing for young girls becoming more provocative, how do you dress your child and make her happy at the same time? Share your thoughts on the topic.

Moms Talk is a regular feature on Naperville Patch, it’s our way to reach out to moms, dads and families.

We invite you and your circle of friends to grow and build a community of support for parents and families right here in .

Each week in Moms Talk, our council of experts, including some very smart local moms, will take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Moms, dads, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community have a new resource for questions about local neighborhood schools, the best pediatricians, 24-hour pharmacies and the thousands of other issues that arise while raising children.

Moms Talk is the place to drop in for a chat about the latest parenting hot topics such as: Where can we get information on local flu shot clinics for children? How do we talk to our children about the Tucson shootings? How can we help our children's schools weather their budget cutbacks?

Today’s topic is what do you think of clothing for young girls? With clothing becoming more provocative, such as Abercrombie & Fitch selling a bathing for young girls that has a padded push-up top, how do you make decisions about clothing while trying to please your child at the same time? Do you negotiate with your child, lay down the law, or explain what is appropriate? Let other parents know how you tackle this subject.

Moms Council members will chime in and chat with you! Please use the comment box below for questions, or to share your experiences and the lessons you have learned.

I don't have much advice - just very glad I have boys! I don't know if parents can lay down the law - kids are going to find ways around it. I remember being a junior in high school and going out in one outfit, with a revealing tank top stuffed in my purse that I would then put on once I left the house. So the kids are going to do what they want to do I'm afraid.
