LA GRANGE, Oct. 17—Police were told that a man was throwing property out the window of a home on the 0-100 block of Madison Avenue at about 11:17 p.m. Police said they found a husband and wife throwing mutual property out of the house. The two have a court order and will stay on separate sides of the house, police added.

ST. CHARLES, Oct. 16—Steven Dale Reed, 36, of 1251 Student Ave., Springfield, OH, was cited for battery after an altercation with some men who reportedly made comments about him after he kicked a tree.

ST. CHARLES, Oct. 15—A 27-year-old man told police he had made a bad decision, after tossing a pumpkin from the second-floor patio of a downtown bar against the window of a nearby business. The window didn't break, but employees of the bar made the man leave, and said he had to be restrained when he tried to get back in. Jeffrey J. Denning, 2243 Fox Fire Ct., Geneva, was cited for disorderly conduct.

When a Big-Screen TV Seems Like a Bargain

HINSDALE, Oct. 12—Police got a report from a resident who said he paid $38,752 to a private ticket broker, for season tickets to Bulls and Blackhawks games, but he never got any tickets. Two other people, from Clarendon Hills, and a fourth, from Oak Lawn, also told police in their towns they paid money without getting any tickets, according to Hinsdale police. The payments were made between Sept. 11 and Sept. 22, police were told. The identity of the suspect is known and the case is under investigation.

Beermobile's No Bookmobile

LA GRANGE, Oct. 12—A beer truck making a delivery was moved at 10:54 a.m. by the driver after police were told it was parked in the pickup lane for Cossitt School on Madison Avenue.

If "Home Alone" included the Squirrel Scene from "Christmas Vacation"...

LA GRANGE, Oct. 11—An 11-year-old girl living on Sawyer Avenue told police at about 3:49 p.m. that she was home alone and had locked herself on the back porch because a squirrel was loose in the kitchen. An officer helped her get out and she went to a neighbor’s home. Police gave her mother the telephone number of Cook County animal control to remove the squirrel.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

BURR RIDGE, Oct. 11—A resident of the 8700 block of Polo Ridge Drive called police at about 10:15 a.m. to complain the neighbor’s children were “wandering onto his property.”
