Cannabis Possession, iPod Touch Snatched: Police Blotter

SATURDAY, JULY 13

i-Pod Touch Snatched

Someone took a white $200 iPod Touch and a $20 cover from the 6300 block of Woodward Avenue. The incident occurred sometime between 9:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. while the owner was moving around some finished laundry. After folding clothes on a folding table, he set the i-Pod Touch on the table's upper shelf and went out to his car with one of his piles. When he came back, other people had placed their laundry on the table as well. He had them move the clothing and then remembered his i-Pod. It was gone and the people at the table told them they had not seen it. Police reviewed security camera footage and plan to speak to someone regarding the theft, according to a report.

Man Charged With Cannabis Possession

Police arrested Joel O. Lucas, 31, of the 4000 block of Glendenning Avenue, Downers Grove, was arrested at 2:49 a.m on Highland Avenue at I-88. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis not more than 10 grams. He was also cited for an improper turn and driving while license suspended. Lucas was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Downers Grove Police Department for processing. He was released on I-bond.

FRIDAY, JULY 12

Driver's Mirror Busted

Someone broke a driver's side mirror on a vehicle while it was legally parked on the 400 block of Rogers. The incident occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The crack in the broken mirror forms to a point, indicated that it was hit directly and not broadly as if a vehicle hit it, according to a police report. "At this time it appears the mirror was hit intentionally with a blunt instrument such as a bat," the report said.

Car Burglarized Overnight

Someone entered an unlocked car on the 4000 block of Earlston Road and took a $400 silver Coach purse. The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. July 11 and 9:30 p.m. July 12. The purse contained identification, $231 cash, a $250 Cannon camera and more.
