Downers Grove Citibank Robbed by Man in Construction Helmet

Police are searching for a man wearing an orange T-shirt, jeans and an orange construction helmet, who allegedly robbed Citibank, 5134 Main St., around 12:08 p.m. Wednesday.

Downers Grove police are searching for a man who robbed a downtown Downers Grove bank Wednesday afternoon.

Citibank, 5134 Main St., was robbed around 12:08 p.m., according to Downers Grove police. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect, a white man between 45 and 50 years old, fled on foot before police arrived on scene, according to Downers Grove Police Sgt. Harry Andler.

The man was described as being 5-foot-10 with a short, white "five-o'clock shadow beard," police said. He was last seen wearing an orange construction type helmet, orange shirt, jeans and sunglasses.

Police are continuing to search the area for the man. The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
