Icy hole in pond searched for victims.

From the :

(Downers Grove, IL) On Tuesday, January 24, 2012 the Downers Grove Fire Department responded to a call at 9:11 a.m. for the report of footprints leading to a large hole in the ice covering a retention pond at 1501 Warren Avenue, Downers Grove, IL. The caller was concerned that someone had walked out on the ice and fallen in the hole. Local area employees reported that the hole had not been there at 10:00 the night before. The Downers Grove Fire Department called for dive rescue teams to search the pond for anyone that might have been trapped under the ice covering the waist high water. Firefighters worked to cut thick ice from the top of the pond and search the water below. After a thorough search of the pond, the department determined there were no victims in the pond and released all companies. The Downers Grove Fire and Police Departments were assisted by the Lisle-Woodridge, Darien-Woodridge, Westmont, and Naperville fire departments.
