DGPD Investigating Suspicious Incident at Lester School

A man approached a group of kids around 4:10 on the playground.

On March 20, 2012 at 1:54 p.m., Downers Grove Police were notified of a suspicious incident, which occurred at Lester School on March 19th at approximately 4:10 p.m. Officers learned that a group of children involved in an after school program were approached on the playground by a white male who spoke to them about a wrist watch he had claimed to have lost and then asked their names. The male left the area after a staff member of the after school program brought the children inside the school building. The male is believed to be 30 - 40 years old, approximately 6 foot 3 inches tall with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and khaki shorts.


The Downers Grove Police Department is asking everyone to remind children to be aware of strangers and report any concerns immediately. Police have increased patrols in the area and at all local schools.
