Downers Grove School Bus Driver Accused of Passing Note to 12-Year-Old

A Downers Grove school bus driver was arrested and fired this week after giving his personal information to a 12-year-old student, authorities said.

Victor Ray, 52, of Addison, was charged with one count of disorderly conduct after the incident, which occurred around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, according to Downers Grove Police Lt. Mike Willison.

Authorities said the student was exiting the bus on the way to Highland School on Tuesday when Ray handed the student a note with his contact information. The note was immediately turned over to school officials, who contacted the Downers Grove Police Department and Westway Coach, the bus company employed by Downers Grove Grade School District 58.

Ray, who had worked for Westway for about two years, was fired and removed from any further contact with students, according to company officials.

Ray was released on bond pending a future court date, police said.
