MONDAY, SEPT. 10

Car Burglary

A car was burglarized overnight in the 740 block of 73rd Street, police said. The only items missing were an insurance card and registration.

Drinking in Public

Police responded to Barth Pond, 601 55th St., around 2:53 p.m. for a report of a man fishing in his underwear. The caller also told polie the man had urinated on a tree near a playground area, police said.

Upon the officer's arrival, a man fishing with his child told police about a man in his underwear who had been yelling and swearing "for some time," according to the report.

When police approached the man—identified as 49-year-old Troy A. McJimsey of the 5100 block of Fairview Avenue in Downers Grove—he was wearing a pair of swimming trunks without any shoes.

McJimsey was arrested and charged with drinking in public, police said.

Drug Possession

Hayley Wright, 20, of the 800 block of Greenbrier Road in DeKalb, was arrested around around 7:42 p.m. in the 2900 block of Highland, police said. She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop, and was transferred to the DuPage County Jail.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 6

Attempted Tampering with a Motor Vehicle

Patrick S. Byers, 25, of the 2200 block of Arbor Circle in Downers Grove, was arrested around 8:07 p.m. near his home, police said.

Downers Grove police responded to a parking lot in the 2200 block of Arbor Circle after a report of a car burglary. A couple reportedly saw a man—later identified as Byers—looking into a car window and grabbing the driver's door handle, police said.

Byers was charged with attempted tampering of a motor vehicle. He was released on an I-bond, police said.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 5

Property Damage at Fischel Park

An employee of the Downers Grove Park District told police that bark was cut out of a tree at Fischel Park, 1036 Grove Ave., sometime between 3 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 12 p.m. on Sept. 5.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 4

Obstructing Identification

Trevor M. Gant, 25, of the 1400 block of Napa Circle in Plainfield, was arrested around 11:13 p.m. in the 6800 block of Dunham Road, police said.

Police responded to the scene after a call of a suspicious person. After running a check on Gant under a different name, police found no record of his identity. However, once he provided his actual name, police found out he was wanted on a $10,000 warrant for a domestic battery charge in Will County.

Gant was charged with obstructing identification and for the domestic battery warrant. He was issued an Oct. 17 court date.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 2

Driving Under the Influence

Adolfo Gonzalez-Torres, 41, of the 2500 block of Crystal Court in Woodridge, was arrested around 5:23 p.m. near Fairview and Burlington avenues, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was issued an Oct. 10 court date.

THURSDAY, AUG. 30

Car Burglary on Midhurst

A car was burglarized overnight in the 2200 block of Midhurst Road, police said. The owner of the car told police that she knew the car had been burglarized because the keys were left inside and the doors were open, and the items were "shifted around" when she returned in the morning. The only items missing were the keys, police said.
