BURR RIDGE

Dec. 16:

  • Alexis Martinez, 18, of the 6200 block of Tripp Avenue, Chicago, was charged with DUI and improper turning, police said. She appeared to be under the influence of drugs during a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 83 and I-55 at 8:53 p.m., police said. Martinez submitted to a DUI kit, police said, and results that will show whether drugs were involved are pending. Martinez was released to appear in court.
  • Steve Jacobson, 29, of the 9600 block of Merton Avenue, Oak Lawn, was charged with DUI and driving on the wrong side of the road, police said. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of 72nd Street and Central Avenue at 2:59 a.m., police said. Jacobson was released to appear in court.

DARIEN

Dec. 6: Algis C. Modestas, 72, of Willowbrook, was found parked behind the Shell gas station at 8975 Lemont Road at 10:43 p.m. Police said there was dried vomit on the outside of the driver's door. After waking up Modestas, police said he smelled like alcohol and had glassy eyes and difficulty with motor skills.

According to a police report, there were two bottles of vodka found in the center console of Modestas' car. He took a Breathalyzer test and was three times over the legal limit of .08, police said. Modestas was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was given a Jan. 8 court date.

Dec. 1: Mark A. DiPasquale, 29, of the 900 block of Burlington Avenue in Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him for speeding at 12:36 a.m. near Lemont Road and Interstate 55. Police said DiPasquale was making improper lane changes and had red, glassy eyes and slurred speech. He submitted to a Breathalyzer test and blew over the legal limit, police said. DiPasquale was given a Jan. 8 court date in Wheaton.

DOWNERS GROVE

Dec. 8: Anika Kals, 23, of the 4200 block of Downers Drive in Downers Grove, was arrested around 4 a.m. in the 3800 block of Downers Drive, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while texting and no insurance. She was issued a Jan. 9, 2013 court date in Wheaton.

ELMHURST

Dec. 17: Oscar Cruz, 21, 741 N. York, was arrested and charged with DUI after he was found sleeping in his gold Toyota 4-Runner at Industrial and Grand at 12:49 a.m. He also was charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance and failure to give information after striking property. He allegedly had struck a mailbox with his vehicle, police said. He was released on bond.

Dec. 16: Jaime Wallen, 22, 235 N. Broadview, Lombard, was driving a white Kia Optima when she was involved in a four-car accident at 4:45 p.m. at York and St. Charles roads. Other vehicles involved were a Dodge Caravan, a Ford Crown Victoria driven by a Lombard Police officer and an Oldsmobile Bravada. Wallen was charged with two counts of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance. She was released on I-bond.

Dec. 15: Ivan Williamson, 36, 7530 S. Champlain, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after his tan Saturn L300 was involved in an accident with a 59-year-old Burr Ridge resident at Route 83 and St. Charles Road at 2:07 a.m. Williamson also was charged with improper lane use and driving without insurance. He was released on I-bond.

Dec. 14:

  • Kevin Gardner, 31, 154 N. Catalpa, Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license after police pulled over his black Chrysler Sebring for disobeying a red light at York and Industrial Drive at 9:04 p.m. Police said he was found to have taken Xanax and was in possession of 39 Xanax pills. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
  • Thomas Franco, 29, 409 North Ave., Lombard, was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license, driving under the influence, driving without insurance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police received a call for a reckless driver in the area of Route 83 and Interstate 290 at 10:21 a.m. Witnesses told police the truck Franco was driving struck a wall traveling southbound on Route 83, then pulled into the Courtyard by Mariott. Police said Franco admitted to using heroin. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and his vehicle towed for forfeiture.

GLEN ELLYN

Dec. 15:

  • Daniel M. Mason, 40, of the 500 block of Taylor Ave., Glen Ellyn, was charged with drunken driving and disobeying a stop sign after his arrest around 1:25 a.m. near Main and Fairview.
  • Thomas J. Grant, 32, of the 6500 block of Klingler Lane, Plainfield, was charged with drunken driving and disobeying a traffic control device after his arrest in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road around 12:30 a.m., Glen Ellyn Police said.

Dec. 10: Edyta E. Olejarska, 55, of the 1100 block of Rhodes Court, Wheaton, was charged with drunken driving, no insurance and driving without headlights when required after her arrest around 1:25 a.m. near Roosevelt Road and Main Street.

HINSDALE

Dec. 17: Kimberly S. Burns, 34, of the 3200 block of Grand Boulevard, Brookfield, was charged with two counts of DUI, police said. Officers said she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when they arrived at the scene of a property-damage-only crash involving Burns in the 300 block of East Walnut Street at 7:19 p.m. She failed an ensuing breath test, police said.

Burns, who police said failed to yield while exiting Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, was also charged with failure to yield and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released to appear in court.

LISLE

Dec. 16:

  • Melissa C. Malik, 33, 2733 Buckingham Drive, Lisle, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. at Windsor and Buckingham drives, police said. Reports state she was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
  • Carla M. Robotti, 54, 6559 Shagbark Court, Lisle, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of Shagbark Court, police said. Reports state she was also charged with failure to reduce speed.

WHEATON

Dec. 16: Police charged Lakia Boyd, 27, of Chicago with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a white 2012 Dodge Avenger near the intersection of Blanchard Street and Roosevelt Road around 2:40 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 14:

  • Police charged Joel Sible, 43, of the 1000 block of Forest Avenue in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering the life of a child. He drove a silver 2004 Porsche GTS near the intersection of College Avenue and President Street around 9:30 p.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.
  • Police charged Sidney Nash, Jr., 33, of Chicago with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a black 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix near the intersection of Carlton Street and Roosevelt Road around 2 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 13: Police charged Michael Dieterle, 20, of the 1300 block of Elm Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He drove a gray 2003 Toyota Camry near the intersection of Blanchard Street and Darwin Drive around 12:40 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

Dec. 12: Police charged Joanna Hanek, 40, of the 100 block of North Morgan Street in Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license, illegally transporting liquor and an FTA warrant charge. She drove a white 2012 Ford F-150 near the intersection of Liberty Drive and Hale Street around 11:35 p.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that night.
