DUI Arrests, Stolen Car, Resisting an Officer: Police Blotter

TUESDAY, SEPT. 25

Stolen Car

A car was stolen overnight from DG Motors, 700 Ogden Ave., police said. The vehicle was a 1997 Mazda Miata MX-5 convertible. The owner of the dealership said he discovered broken window glass in the empty space where the vehicle was last seen.

Car Burglary on Finley Road

A car was burglarized outside of X-Sport Fitness, 3200 Finley Road, sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m., police said. A black fabric briefcase was stolen, along with a laptop computer and a Blackberry moble device.

Resisting an Officer

Zachary A. McNutt, 23, of the 400 block of Austin Street in Downers Grove, was arrested around 2:23 p.m. near Burlington and Fairview avenues, police said.

Downers Grove police stopped McNutt while he was walking along Fairview Avenue after they were notified by a DuPage County probation officer of several outstanding warrants. When the officer began to approach, McNutt fled on his bike, according to the report.

McNutt then hid under semi trailers at the Pepperidge Farm loading docks, police said. Additional officers arrived, and took McNutt into custody without incident.

During their search of McNutt, officers located two glass smoking pipes with burnt marijuana residue, as well as an empty prescription bottle, police said.

McNutt was charged with resisting a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Downers Grove notified the Village Park Police Department and the DuPage County Sheriff's Office regarding their warrants.

DUI

Christopher D. Neiman, of the 100 block of Cass Avenue in Westmont, was arrested around 12:34 a.m. near Main and 61st streets, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was issued an Oct. 24 court date.

Broken Windows at Kingsley School

Three windows were broken on the roof at Kingsley School, 6509 Powell, between 3 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 24, police said. The areas of impact indicated the damage was caused by a pellet or BB gun, according to the report.

Graffiti at Westbrook Condos

White sliding glass doors in the Westbrook condos, 3939 block Saratoga Ave., were spray painted with green graffiti sometime between 11 a.m. on Sept. 21 and 1 p.m. on Sept. 24, police said.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 243

DUI

Anthony Tremonte, 48, of the 800 block of Grant Street in Downers Grove, was arrested around 2:55 a.m. in the 2500 block of Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for improper lane usage and speeding. He was issued an Oct. 24 court date.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 22

DUI

Stephanie M. Singh, of the 2100 block of Prentiss in Downers Grove, was arrested around 12:52 a.m. in the 1400 block of Ogden Avenue, police said. Shee was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for improper lighting (one headlamp) and speeding (53 mph in a 35 mph zone). She was issued an Oct. 24 court date.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 21

DUI

Tyler C. Jones, of the 600 block of N. Pine Crest in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 12:59 a.m. near Highland Avenue and 31st Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for disobeying a traffic signal. He was issued an Oct. 24 court date.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 20

Aggravated DUI

Vincent R. Vierra, of the 1400 block of Vine Avenue in Park Ridge, was arrested around 2:44 a.m. near Warrenville and Finley roads, police said. He was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol while suspended for DUI. He was issued an Oct. 24 court date.
