The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department:
An estimated $10,000 in copper wire was stolen from a construction site at Flavorchem on Brook Drive sometime between February 17 and February 20.
Theft Under $500
A wallet and its contents were stolen from a purse during a teen parent parenting class at Gloria Dei church on February 20.
A wallet and its contents were stolen from a purse in the 1800 block of Prairie on February 21.
A wallet and its contents were stolen from a purse left unattended in the multi-purpose room of St. Paul United Church on Dunham February 19.
A cellphone was stolen off a table inside Midwest Gold Buyers on 75th Street on February 21. The phone was valued at $200.
Burglary From Motor Vehicle Parts/Access
The steering column on a car parked at the Courts of Falling Water was damaged on February 22 when someone tried unsuccessfully to steal the car. The damage was estimated at $1000.
Two juvenile girls found hanging out at the DG parking deck on Curtis around 3:30 a.m. on February 18 were charged with curfew violations.
Drinking in Public
James Triphah, 53 of 705 W. Liberty in Wheaton, and Erica Aponte, 36 of the same address, were charged with drinking in public after officers found them laying on the ground with beer cans around them in the fifth floor of the DG parking deck on February 23 around 12:30 a.m..
Criminal Damage to Property
A Chevy Blazer parked at Flavorchem on Brook Drive on February 20 was scratched sometime between 2 p.m. and 1030 p.m.. Damage was estimated at $1000.
