Federal Appeals Court Upholds Conviction of Man who Bombed Library

Conviction of Downers Grove resident Thomas Zajac in 2006 bombing of Salt Lake City library upheld.

A Downers Grove resident charged with six felony charges in connection to bombing a downtown Salt Lake City library in 2006 will not see his conviction overturned, according to a federal appeals court.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Zajac was seeking to have the conviction overturned with the argument that Utah waited too long to prosecute him for the crime. The federal appeals court determined Zajac was to blame for most of the delays and rejected his claim.
