$500 Figurine Taken, DUI: Police Blotter

Gym Bag, Lock Taken

Someone at 9:44 p.m. reported a gym bag and combination lock missing from a locker on the 3200 block of Finley Road. The person left the gym bag in the locker and locked it at 8 p.m. When the person returned at 9 p.m., the lock and bag were gone. The bag, a house key and car key were valued at $100 total. The lock was valued at $10.

Cologne Crook

A manager at a business on the 1300 block of 75th Street at 3:34 p.m. reported the theft of two bottles of cologne. The suspect is a man between 18-25 years old. The manager observed him through surveillance cameras remove plastic wrapping from two packages, take out the bottles of cologne and place at least one in his jacket pocket. The man then left the building and the manager went to confront him.

The man turned around abruptly and asked the manager what she wanted. She asked about the cologne he opened. He told her he didn't take anything, began emptying his pockets and got into a light blue Chevy Trailblazer. The man took a $78 bottle of Gio cologne and a $59 bottle of True Religion cologne.

$500 Figurine Missing

An employee of a store on the 6600 block of Fairview Avenue at 11:45 a.m. reported the theft of a $500 blue Lladro boy and girl ballerina figurine. The figurine was taken from a display case towards the front of the store sometime during the employee's 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 shift. At 3:40 p.m., the employee said she had a strange encounter with two men. One of the men went straight to the back room and the other asked if he could borrow her reading glasses. After he looked at some items, the man returned the glasses and left with the other man without buying anything. "The complainant advised the whole encounter just seemed odd," the police report for this incident said.

DUI, Speeding

Kerolous M. Rezk, 27, of the 6500 block of Main Street, Downers Grove, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. at the intersection of 63rd Street and Springside Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08, speeding and improper lane usage. His white Cadillac Escalade was towed from the scene to an impound lot. He was released on I-bond and has an April 10 court date.
