Man Arrested After Police Find Pot in Toilet Paper Roll: Police

Police were called to a Downers Grove apartment this past week after someone reported the smell of marijuana coming from the residence.

A 24-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested on Feb. 10 at 10:39 p.m. after someone reported the smell of marijuana coming from his apartment, according to Downers Grove Police Department reports.

Robert Dushku, of 4945 Douglas Road, Apt. 1S in Downers Grove, answered the door when Downers Grove Police officers responded to his apartment Monday night. Dushku allowed police into his apartment.

After asking him to relinquish any illegal narcotic, Dushku lead an officer into his bathroom where he revealed a two-inch metal smoking pipe and a small clear plastic bag of a green leafy substance that he had placed in a toilet paper roll, according to the police report.

Police said Dushku told them the substance was marijuana and that it belonged to him.

Dushku was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis under 30 grams. He was later released on bond.

Naperville police, making arrest in Downers Grove. Curious!

So someone is doing this in the privacy of their own home and a neighbor in this typical tattle tale society calls the police. The police intrude on his home and arrest him for something that should be decriminalized ,is legal in other states, and will soon be legal everywhere ? What a waste of time money and this man's reputation. SMH.

If the smell was going into another unit, the neighbor has every right to complain Joe. Same with the evil tobacco products. It's not a tattle tale society, it's a don't force your drug addiction on me and your other neighbors society.

Please. This is not news and the guy should not be arrested. The Patch reports on this garbage but not on a major fire that happened. I'm done with the Patch.

Don't let the fire door hit you on the way out...

"Dushku allowed police into his apartment." And now he's kicking himself for not insisting on a search warrant.

I didn't see anything about Naperville PD in this article. I am about done with patch also. There is a lot more happening in DG than the Patch ever reports. There were actually two significant fires last week that were never reported. Suburban Life online is so much more informative.
