Downers Grove police had two run-ins with a 19-year-old, and the last one ended at the county jail. Here's what happened.

A 19-year-old Lemont man was arrested twice in Downers Grove over a five-hour period for separate offenses, according to police reports.

Tyler M. Barkdoll, of the 400 block of McCarthy Road, was charged on June 9 with consumption of alcohol by a minor during the first incident at 2:41 a.m. at 75th Street and Woodward Avenue. He was then charged with burglary from a motor vehicle at 7:20 a.m. on the 6100 block of Lyman Avenue.

Barkdoll was at the Downers Grove Police Department until 4:30 a.m. for the first incident. During that time, he was also cited for a defective windshield, loud muffler and an open container of alcohol, the report for the drinking incident said.

In the second incident, Barkdoll is accused of car hopping and taking items that included a Swiss army knife, wallets with credit cards, cash and more, according to a police report. Barkdoll was wearing all black when police found him in a resident's PT Cruiser on the 600 block of 61st Street east of Lyman Avenue. He was searched and the various items on him were returned to their rightful owners.

After the second trip to the police department, he was taken to the DuPage County Jail and later released.

Police first encountered Barkdoll due to his loud muffler on 75th Street. During the traffic stop, an officer saw an open bottle of Rolling Rock beer and an open bottle of Mickey's malt liquor on the floor directly behind him, the report said.

"It should be noted that I observed a bottle cap near Barkdoll's feet, that ended up being a Rolling Rock bottle cap," the report said. "I asked, and Barkdoll told me he had some beer."

Barkdoll blew .027 and his female passenger blew a .075. They were both charged.

Barkdoll's next court dates are July 8 for the burglary case and July 24 for the drinking case, according to county records.
