Man Decides to 'Just Do It,' Swipes Nike Workout Pants from Kohl's

Downers Grove police reports, Jan. 2–3.


FRIDAY, JAN. 3
Theft at Kohl's
Patrick Workman, of the 6400 block of Americana Drive in Willowbrook, was charged with retail theft after he was spotted stuffing Nike workout pants into a Kohl's bag. Workman had allegedly brought the bag into the store, and stood in line to make an exchange. An employee reportedly spotted him leaving the line, taking the pants off the hangers and then putting them in the bag. Workman was released on bond with court date pending at the Downers Grove Traffic Court. 

THURSDAY, JAN. 2
Possession of Cannabis Under 30 Grams
Matthew Janek, of the 6100 block of Leonard Drive in Downers Grove, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a valid license, after a traffic stop near Belmont and Ogden. Police found a pipe with white residue in the cup holder, along with a plastic wrapped holding a a green leafy substance in his coat pockets. Janek was also charged with driving without insurance and expired registration.  He was released on bond.
