BURR RIDGE

Eat Now, Pay A Lot Later

Two male juveniles, one from Burr Ridge and one from Willowbrook, were caught eating food June 14 as they walked through a store on the 100 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. A manager had spotted them doing this over a period of a few weeks. Officers arrived at 8:06 p.m. and called the parents. No formal charges were filed. Instead the boys were released to their parents after agreeing to pay back all they’ve eaten—about $300 worth of food, according to police.

St. Charles police said Fricke was clocked at 98 in a 45 mph zone at Randall and Red Gate roads. But officers caught up with him — easily, it would appear — within a little more than half a mile. According to police, Fricke was stopped at Middle Creek Road and Randall Roads after his motorcycle ran out of gas.

NAPERVILLE

Sexual Stranger

A woman on July 16 gave a male stranger a ride in her car in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue, police said. Once inside the car, the man told her that she was pretty and that she aroused him. The man then pulled his shorts down and appeared to be touching himself, according to police reports, but the woman did not look and does not know if he actually exposed himself. Police were unable to locate or identify the man.

Little Guest, Big Problem

Police said a vehicle on July 14 struck a parkway tree on after the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a bee in the car in the 1100 block of Jane Avenue.

Who Helped Themselves?

A man said that on July 5 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. someone entered his apartment without force and ate some of his Popeye's chicken in his refrigerator in the 800 block of Benedetti Drive. He also told police that similar incidents have happened in the past, but he has not reported them.

GLEN ELLYN

Rubber Money

Someone stole multiple tires from vehicles that were parked in the lot of a business on the 300 block of Roosevelt Road. The incident occurred sometime between 3 p.m. July 3 and 7:30 a.m. July 5. The estimated value of the tires is $11,000.

Park This

DOWNERS GROVE

“I Believe You’re A Jerk”

Someone scratched a question mark into a man's windshield on the 900 block of Curtiss Street. The incident occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. July 11. A post it note was also left on the windshield that said "I believe in your abilities," according to a police report. The man said he hasn't had problems with anyone and doesn't know who would want to damage his vehicle. The windshield damaged was estimated at $500.
