Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Car in Downtown Downers Grove

A woman was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries Monday evening after she was struck in the crosswalk at Main and Grove streets.

A woman was injured Monday night after she was struck by a vehicle on Main Street in downtown Downers Grove.

Police said the woman was walking in the crosswalk at Main and Grove streets around 5:40 p.m. when she was hit. 

The woman was conscious at the scene, and was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Downers Grove Police Sgt. Harry Andler.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for failture to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, Andler said.
