Pedestrian Struck by Train in Downers Grove

A man was struck by an eastbound Metra train Friday evening near the Main Street station in Downers Grove.

A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train near the Main Street station in Downers Grove around 5:45 p.m. Friday. 

The man was hit by a slow-moving eastbound train, and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a release from Downers Grove police. 

Train traffic was stopped in the area and the Main Street and Washington Street crossings were closed while police conducted an investigation. As of 8:10 p.m., all train traffic and crossings were opened to resume normal operation.
