Police: $11,000 in Jewelry Stolen in Home Burglary

Two gaming systems and jewelry valued at almost $11,000 was stolen from a home on Oakwood Avenue after the door was forced open while the homeowner was gone on Feb. 3, according to Downers Grove police. 

Police said the offender(s) broke the front door and went through the house between 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 3, according to a police department report. 

The jewelry was taken from a desk and from a chest of drawers in a first-floor bedroom and a Wii and Xbox were stolen, along with several games, from the basement, according to the police report. 

In total, $13,750 in property was reported stolen from the home.
