Police: Aurora Man Drives into Man Saving Parking Spot at Car Show

The man backed his car into the victim on purpose before getting into a shouting match, police said.

An Aurora man purposely backed his car twice into a man who was saving a parking spot for his friend Friday evening on the 5100 block of Main Street during the weekly car show, said.

As the man yelled that he was holding the spot, Danny R. Hornback, 57, of the 1300 block of East Indian Trail, struck him in the leg two times, police said. Hornback then got out of his car and got into a shouting match with the man, police said.

Four witnesses said they saw Hornback hit the victim with his car, police said. Hornback’s passenger said she heard the victim threaten to “kick (Hornback’s) ass,” but three of the four witnesses did not report hearing threats, police said. The fourth witness said he didn’t know if any threats were made.
