Man Tries to Kick Police Officer

Allen Schroeder, 52, no address given, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after an altercation with a security guard at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and a DGPD officer at the police station. Police responded to Good Sam to find Schroeder handcuffed after allegedly pulling his fist back as if it hit the security guard. When DGPD transported him to the police station, Schroeder was asleep in the backseat, allegedly highly intoxicated. Police tried to wake him but couldn't, so they called the DGFD for assistance. Schroeder woke up suddenly and started screaming very loudly and attempted to kick an officer. The officer pulled Schroeder out of the car but Schroeder was too intoxicated to stand and fell to the floor. In the booking room, officers tried to get Schroeder to sit down on a bench, but he resisted, continuing to shout. Schroeder began spitting on the floor and officers put a “spit hood” over Schroeder's face. DGFD arrived and transported Schroeder back to Good Sam.
