Vandalism With Acid

While responded to a potential gas leak, a Downers Grove firefighter noticed that the sidewalk at Prairie Avenue and Washington Street had been vandalized sometime before 7:24 p.m. June 17.

Police said it appeared that someone had burned the words “DGPD” and “Wife killing cops,” into the sidewalk, as well as other illegible etchings with acid. The substance used to write the graffiti had burned off the top layer of cement in the sidewalk squares, reports said.Assist Other Agency
