Police: Man Arrested Following Fight on Dance Floor

Police were called to Rita's Roadhouse, 1211 Butterfield Road, Suite A, in Downers Grove, at 2:48 a.m. on Feb. 9 for a report of a fight. Ricardo J. Guerrero is also accused of driving his vehicle into other vehicles in the club's parking lot.

Police arrested a 25-year-old Glendale Heights man earlier this month for accusations that started a fight on the dance floor of a Downers Grove club and then drove his car into the victim's vehicle in the club's parking lot.

Ricardo J. Guerrero, of 703 E. Fullerton Avenue, Apt. 101, in Glendale Heights, has been charged with two counts of criminal damage to property, reckless driving and failure to give information after striking another vehicle, according to a Downers Grove Police report.

The charges stem from a report of a fight at Rita's Roadhouse, located at 1211 Butterfield Road, Suite A, in Downers Grove. Police were called to Rita's at 2:48 a.m. on Feb. 9.

When they arrived, the victim in the fight told police Guerrero punched and kicked him following a verbal exchange between the victim and a woman that was in Guerrero's group. The victim told police he knew the group on the dance floor and thought they were on friendly terms, according to police reports.

He told police he attempted to defend himself before his group of friends pulled him away and then left Rita's. He said the group he encountered on the dance floor "came at them again and they fought in the parking lot," according to the police report.

As the group was getting into their vehicle, police said Guerrero ran his car into their vehicle. He then went onto hit one to two other vehicles on the way out of the parking lot before traveling west on Frontage Road, according to police.

Glendale Heights Police located Guerrero at his apartment and police responded where they questioned Guerrero and his group before arresting Guerrero for charges related to the accidents in the parking lot.
