Police Search for Motorist Who Allegedly Approached Downers Grove Girl

An 8-year-old girl was allegedly approached by a man in a gray truck while riding her bike Sunday in the 4600 block of Sherwood Avenue.

The Downers Grove Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly approached a young girl while she was riding her bike Sunday.

Police were notified Tuesday that an 8-year-old girl was riding her bike in the 4600 block of Sherwood Avenue on Sunday when a gray truck pulled up near her. The male driver rolled down his window and motioned for her to come to the vehicle, prompting the girl to turn around and ride her bike home, police said.

A female with red or orange hair was also in the vehicle, along with a brown and white dog. The man never spoke to the young girl, and his intentions are unknown, according to police.
