Pre-Christmas Retail Theft Reported
Items from Downers Grove Police Reports Dec. 21-24.
The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department:
Wednesday, Dec. 22
8:47 p.m.: Faraz M. Uddin, 19, of Palatine was charged with retail theft at Fry's Electronics, 3300 Finley Road. An employee observed Faraz allegedly place three movies and one Xbox game, valued at $63.92, into his coat pockets. Faraz was stopped as he attempted to leave the store and police were called.

Thursday, Dec. 23
4:04 p.m.: A car stereo was removed from a car parked at Best Buy, 7401 Lemont Road between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The owner reported locking the car in the morning but discovered the driver's door unlocked and the stereo missing when she returned to the car. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Friday, Dec. 24
3:28 a.m.: A car window was damaged in the 1600 block of Ogden Avenue between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Police said a BB or pellet caused the damage but entry to the car was not made.
