Downers Grove police reports, May 16-19.

SUNDAY, MAY 19

Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing an Officer

Greg A. Davis, 46, of the 700 block of Liberty Street in Wheaton, was arrested just after 4 p.m. outside of a business in the 4200 block of Main Street, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the business after a witness reported seeing three men sitting on a bench with at least one "large beer can." One of the men was allegedly slumped over and possibly passed out, according to reports.

When the officer arrived, two men were sitting on the bench with a 24-ounce beer can, police said. The men told the officer that the beer belonged to their friend, who then emerged from behind a building, adjusting the zipper on his shorts, according to reports.

The officer said the man appeared to have trouble walking and was stumbling. The building appeared to have been urinated on, police said.

The man, identified as Greg Davis, said to the officer, "I just got done peeing and now I want to drink my beer," according to reports.

Davis was placed under arrest, at which point he started shouting and yelling profanities and resisting handcuffs, police said. Four officers were needed to pick Davis up and walk him to a nearby squad car, according to reports.

Davis was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer. He was issued a June 19 court date in Wheaton.

FRIDAY, MAY 17

'Perv' Scratch

Police were called to the 5600 block of Washington Street around 1:30 p.m. for a report of property damage. When they arrived, officers found the word "PERV" scratched into the center of the complainant's car hood. There were no leads or suspects.

Stolen Electronics

Brian C. Adam, 31, of the 3800 block of Williams Street, Westmont, was arrested at 9 p.m. following an incident at a business in the 3300 block of Finley Road, police said.

Store employees told police that Adam was seen cutting open packages with a knife and concealing the merchandise. As officers were en route, Adam left the store without paying for the items, according to reports.

Police were able to locate Adam's car near Butterfield Road and Technology Drive, where they pulled him over and placed him under arrest after they found a bluetooth headset and speaker, according to reports.

Adam was charged with retail theft, and was issued a June 19 court date in Wheaton.
