Public Drinking, Stolen Santa, Drug Possession: Police Blotter

THURSDAY, DEC. 13

Theft

A hooded sweatshirt, ring, cell phone, and house and car keys were stolen from a gym in the 3200 block of Finley Road sometime between 6:40 p.m. and 8:02 p.m., police said.

MONDAY, DEC. 10

Drug Possession

Adam P. Roser, 28, of the 5100 block of Lincoln Highway in Lisle, was arrested around 9:52 p.m. near 63rd Street and Springside Avenue, police said. He was charged with aggravated driving while his license was revoked, unlawful possession of cannabis and improper lane usage. He was issued a Jan. 9, 2013 court date in Wheaton.

THURSDAY, DEC. 8

Drinking in Public

Aaron R. Nelson, 46, of the 500 block of Brookside Drive in Westmont, was arrested around 5:57 p.m. at the Fairview train depot, 5099 Fairview Ave., police said.

An officer observed Nelson sitting on a bench, drinking a 16-ounce Miller High Life wrapped in a transparent plastic bag, according to reports. There was a "heavy odor" of alcoholic beverage on his breath, police said.

Nelson was arrested and cited for drinking on public property. He posted an I-bond and was issued an unspecified court date.

Stolen Santa Claus

A plastic, 3.5-foot tall Santa Claus yard decoration was stolen overnight from a front yard in the 6300 block of Barrett Street, police said. The homeowner told police he believed the theft occurred between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The homeowner said the Santa figure had been located in the front yard next to a plastic sleigh, according to reports. It was unscrewed from a stake, with only a lightbulb left behind. 

No other decorations were damaged or stolen.

DUI

Anika Kals, 23, of the 4200 block of Downers Drive in Downers Grove, was arrested around 4 a.m. in the 3800 block of Downers Drive, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while texting and no insurance. She was issued a Jan. 9, 2013 court date in Wheaton.
