Catalytic Converter Stolen
A catalytic converter was stolen from underneath a 2008 Honda Element while parked during the day in downtown Downers Grove. The victim reported that her car, parked in the lot just east of the water fountain, was unusually loud when she started it up to drive home from work. She took it to a Honda dealership, where they said a section of the exhaust pipe had been stolen. The cost to replace it, including labor, is estimated at $2,000.

Illegal Dumping of a Television
It was reported this week that a television of unknown origins was dumped in the parkway in the 5400 block of Park Ave. in Downers Grove. Trash bags were also ripped open at a residence.
$160 Missing from Returned Wallet
A man realized he left his wallet on the bumper of his truck after shopping at the Home Depot on Butterfield Road in Downers Grove. He returned to Home Depot, where the wallet had been returned to the service desk by an unknown person. However, $160 was missing, along with the man's driver license.
