Downers Grove police reports, July 8-15

MONDAY, JULY 15

Man Charged With Retail Theft

Anthony R. Ledesma, 28, of the 1600 block of Briarcliff, Wheaton, was charged with retail theft on the 3300 block of Finley Road. Ledesma was spotted taking a $16.99 micro SDHC card and another for $29.99 from their packaging and placing them in his front pants pocket, according to police. Security recognized Ledesma as an unknown suspect from a previously unreported retail theft at the store, so he was kept under constant surveillance, according to a police report.

Ledesma left the store without paying for the cards and was detained. He was taken into custody, charged and released on an I-bond with an Aug. 28 court date. "Mr. Ledesma was polite and cooperative during the entire arrest procedure," the police report said.
