Andy DuRoss, the superintendent for Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence after police pulled him over near Washington and Jefferson streets in Naperville about 12:53 a.m. on Feb. 1, according to the Daily Herald.

DuRoss, of Naperville, had been out to dinner at Sullivan's Steakhouse when police said they received a report of an intoxicated person at the restaurant and when they responded, found DuRoss arguing with "restaurant staff over a missing purse," according to the article.

Though the officer advised DuRoss to take a cab, the same officer saw DuRoss driving near Main and Jefferson streets, pulled him over and arrested him on drunken driving charges, the Daily Herald reports.

His blood-alcohol level was .117 while the legal blood-alcohol level is .08, according to the Chicago Tribune.

DuRoss, 46, is in his first year as superintendent for District 54, which includes 27 elementary schools, according to the Chicago Tribune. DuRoss called every board of education member following his arrest to make them aware of the DUI, according to the article.
