Unidentified Man Seen Photographing Girls at Fischel Park

Battery, drinking in public among reports.

The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department:

Suspicious Incident

A group of girls were photographed by an unknown white male at Fischel Park on May 13 around 5 p.m. The girls said they were taking pictures of each other and noticed a flash come from the direction of the parking lot behind Emmet's Ale House and noticed a white male taking their photographs while sitting in his car. The girls left the park, went to Subway, and called police. The man appeared to be in his 40s, driving an older model 4-door black car, possibly a Toyota Tercel. The girls said the man had parked his car facing them, had his door slightly ajar with one foot on the ground, and was hunched toward the steering wheel as if he were hiding behind it.

Battery

Andrew Pempek, 35, of 8923 S. 84th Ave in Hickory Hills, was charged with battery on May 10 after hitting an employee at Motorwerks Star Motor Sales on Ogden Avenue. Pempek, a former employee, went to the business to gather tools he left behind despite being told not to return without the owner there to escort him around. Pempek said he wasn't leaving without his tools, a physical altercation took place, and Pempek hit one of the employees.

Drinking in Public

James Triphan, 53, of 705 W. Liberty Street in Wheaton, was charged with drinking in public on May 11 after being spotted by police sitting on a bench and drinking at the Main Street Depot.

Minor in Possession of Alcohol

Courtney Lagenour, 18, of 323 Benton Road in Aurora, and Ricky McFall, 19, of 1162 Red Oak Trail in Aurora, were charged with minor in possession of alcohol on May 11 at the Sara Lee building on Lacey. Both were attending the East Aurora prom being held there, and an East Aurora police officer spotted the two sitting in a car and drinking in the parking garage.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

Two trucks parked in the West Suburban Bank lot on Finley were broken into on May 11, and an estimated $2,235 in various tools were stolen. Each truck also suffered damage to the passenger side lock estimated at $700.

Possession of Cannabis

Kierstyn Harrington, 20, of 1948 Curtiss in Downers Grove, was charged with possession of cannabis under 30 grams on May 11. Harrington failed to make a complete stop on Highland Avenue and an officer conducted a traffic stop, ultimately finding marijuana in the glove box of Harrington's car. Harrington was also issued a written warning for failure to obey a traffic signal.
