Unknown Offender Steals Thousands in Alcohol from Dominicks

Obstructing identification, disorderly conduct among reports.

The following incidents and arrests were reported by the Downers Grove Police Department:

Retail Theft

For the third time in nine days, an unknown offender stole a large amount of liquor from Dominick's on Ogden on February 29. Each time, the offender has entered the store, filled up a cart with liquor, and left without paying. The estimated dollar amount in liquor stolen so far is more than $2,000. It is now thought the offender may be wearing an earpiece and talking to someone while taking the merchandise.

Erina Savino, 22 of 1410 W. Holtz in Addison, was charged with Retail Theft on March after attempting to leave Kohl's on Finley without paying for items she attempted to hide in her clothing.

Grace Houmba, 21 of 1020 Williams in Westmont, was charged with Retail Theft after attempting to steal a purse, numerous bras and underwear from TJ Maxx Home Goods on Lemont March 3.

Theft Over $500

An iPhone valued at $800 was taken off of a bench at Blast Fitness on 75th February 29 around 6 p.m.. The owner said he forgot to put it in his locker, and when he returned, it was gone.

Disorderly Conduct—Battery

Two juvenile female students got into a fight at DGS around 8 a.m. February 29, and both were subsequently charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Two juvenile female students got into a fight at DGN around 3:30 p.m. February 28, and both were subsequently charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Two juvenile male students got into a fight at DGS around 11:45 a.m. February 27, and both were charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Theft Under $500

An unknown offender stole a man's Green Bay Packers wrist-watch while he was asleepat the PADS location at St. Mary's Church on Prairie overnight on March 2. The watch was valued at $60.

Obstructing Identification

A traffic stop on March 4 at 63rd and Fairview because of an expired registration resulted in James Blanch, 45 of 3417 N. Richmond Road in McHenry, being charged with Obstructing Identification, Operating a Vehicle with Expired Registration, Driving While License Suspended and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. James attempted to give the police officer a fake name when stopped.
