Teen With Alcohol, I-Pass Yanked: Police Blotter

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Someone took a man's I-Pass, a bottle of cologne and a phone car charger from his black 2003 Saturn Ion. The incident occurred between 9:45 p.m. April 16 and 8 a.m. on this day on the 2000 block of Prentiss Drive. The man left the passenger door unlocked and also stated someone tried to remove the Kenwood stereo but did not take it. The stereo is not working anyways, the report said. The man did not want to press charges but wanted the incident documented for insurance purposes.

MONDAY, APRIL 15

60-Second Wallet Theft

A 69-year-old woman at 3:37 p.m. reported her black wallet stolen while she was in a business on the 1500 block of 75th Street. She was at the front counter of the store paying for merchandise and was waiting for her change. "(The woman) advised her wallet was on the counter and she looked away for a minute then looked back and saw the wallet was gone," said the police report for this incident. The woman made a call to close a credit card account. She was told there was no suspicious activity with the card at that time.

Mailbox Annihilated

Someone used an unknown object to smash a $150 decorative wood mailbox on the 5400 block of Bending Oaks Pl. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. April 13 and 7 a.m. April 14. "The mailbox was completely destroyed from the post at the street," said the police report for this incident. There were no suspects.

THURSDAY, APRIL 11

Under 21 With Alcohol, Criminal Damage

Andrew O'Donnell, 18, of the 3600 block of Creekwood Court, Downers Grove, was charged with criminal damage to property, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of alcohol liquor. O'Donnell was placed in handcuffs after 8:40 a.m. at a restaurant on the 1500 block of Ogden Avenue. "(Police) searched Andrew and located two smoking pipes in his right jacket pocket," said the report for this incident. "One of the pipes had a strong odor of burnt cannabis." Police also found nine unopened beer cans in his backpack.

O'Donnell was booked at the Downers Grove Police Department, charged and issued a May 22 court date in Wheaton. He was released on I-bond.
