$2,000 Laptop, Briefcase Stolen
A man's Dell $2,000 laptop, a $50 black briefcase and other items were taken from his vehicle outside a restaurant on the 1800 block of Butterfield Road. The incident occurred sometime between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The man did not realize he had been burglarized until he left the restaurant and got on I-355. That's when he saw that his rear passenger side window was broken, according to a police report. He returned to the restaurant and contacted police.
An officer observed broken glass on the ground of the restaurant parking lot where the man had his car. The briefcase also had a money clip inside with the man's driver's license, FOID card and his company parking card. The license was registered as stolen and photographs of the scene were submitted into evidence.
