Woodridge Man Accused of Videotaping Up Woman's Skirt at Downers Grove Toy Store

Steven R. Meyers, 39, was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly placed his cellphone on his sandal and attempted to take video of the woman at Toys "R" Us.

A Woodridge man was charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday after he allegedly videotaped up a woman's skirt at a Toy "R" Us store in Downers Grove.

A store employee told police that he observed a man—later identified as Steven R. Meyers, 39, of the 1300 block of Hillcrest Lane—walking suspiciously around the store, staring at a female shopper.

The employee then observed Meyers stop and place his cellphone backwards on the top portion of his left sandal, police said. When the female approached a cash register, Meyers allegedly walked behind her and briefly extended his left foot between her legs and under the skirt she was wearing.

Meyers immediately left the store after pulling his left foot back from underneath the legs of the female customer, police said.

The store employee obtained Meyers' license plate number prior to him leaving and called the police. He attempted to stop the female customer and tell her what happened, but she advised that she didn't think she was being followed and refused to stay at the store.

Police identified Meyers after running the license plate number, and stopped him near his Woodridge home. He matched the description provided by the employee at Toys "R" Us, according to reports.

Meyers was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and unauthorized video recording, police said. He was issued an Aug. 21 court date in Wheaton.
