Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to the scene of a murder-suicide at 2705 Meadowdale Lane. Bzdek was already dead. Zuzanna was still alive but gravely injured. She was immediately transported to Edward Hospital and Health Services in Naperville, where she died during surgery.

Original Story, 12:32 p.m. Saturday --
Woodridge Police are investigating what they are terming a murder-suicide that occurred in the suburb on Friday.

According to police, officers found a deceased 34-year-old man and a 3-year-old girl suffering from stab wounds inside a home in the 2700 block of Meadowdale Lane. The girl was taken to Edward Hospital and Health Services in Naperville, where she died in surgery, police said Saturday in a news release.

Police did not specify the time they received a 911 call for service, but a neighbor told Chicago Breaking News that about a dozen police cars showed up at the house around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The news release did not indicate the cause of the man's death.

The neighbor, Ray Davis, said that a couple with three children lived at the address. The two older children were teens, Chicago Breaking News reported.

Davis said the father was from another country, possibly Poland, and although he was friendly, he didn't speak with neighbors much because of the language barrier.

Police said there was no immediate danger to the community, as police believe this to be an isolated incident.

Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said in an email that more information is forthcoming as soon as other specifics can be concerned.
