Barnett Issues Storm Update

This is an important message from the Village of Downers Grove regarding storm recovery efforts.

Due to the severe storm on June 21 the Village experienced significant tree damage. Beginning shortly after the storm ended and extending throughout last night, Village Crews began the clean up process starting with clearing roadways in order to ensure safe passage for emergency vehicles. As clean up continues we are in developing a plan for Village-Wide pick up of public and private damaged tree debris and we will be providing additional directions shortly. 

The Village is communicating directly with ComEd in an effort to expedite the restoration of power however with the scope of damage in Downers Grove and beyond it is anticipated that full restoration could take multiple days.

The Village will continue to provide updates via the Village-wide eMail system, phone notification system, the Village website (here) and local media outlets.
