Boyle Nabs Republican Township Endorsement

Beats out former DG mayor Ron Sandack for Republican Township Organization's nod.

Board Vice President Debbie Boyle picked up the endorsement of the Downers Grove Township Republican Organization last week in the upcoming Republican primary for the 81st District House seat.

To get the endorsement Boyle—who bested fellow republican and current state senator Ron Sandack—needed to receive at least 75 percent of the 92 informed Republican Committeeman's votes.

Boyle said she didn't think she would get the endorsement and was just hoping to hold her own when she went before the Organization last week.

“I went in there just hoping to do well, but I was pleasantly surprised [with the results],” Boyle said Monday night after the District 99 board meeting.

The newly created 81st District includes most of Downers Grove and portions of Lisle, Woodridge, Darien and Naperville.
