Two forums will be held in the coming week for candidates running for Downers Grove Village Council.
The first forum—hosted by the Downers Grove Watch Association, a nonpartisan citizens group—will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Downers Grove Park District Lincoln Center auditorium, 935 Maple Ave.
The event will include a presentation from Bruno Behrend, executive director of For the Good of Illinois, on challenges facing Illinois municipalities. Candidates will take the stage at 10:30 a.m.

Another forum will be held Tuesday, March 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave. That forum is hosted by the League of Women Voters of Downers Grove, Woodridge and Lisle.
Six candidates are running for three seats on the Downers Grove Village Council—incumbents Bob Barnett and Marilyn Schnell and newcomers Susan Walaszek, David S. Olsen, Don Jankowski and Greg Hosé.
