Four of DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin's first five nominees to the DuPage Water Commission have a Downers Grove connection, according to a Chicago Breaking News report.

Cronin's picks include Downers Grove resident and newly appointed library board trustee Dan Loftus; Michael Scheck, a local resident and sales chief for Scheck Industries of Countryside; Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Laura Crawford of Naperville; and Brad Webb of Glen Ellyn, who serves as controller and general counsel of Packy Webb Ford in Downers Grove.

When asked whether he recommended local residents for the commission or advised Cronin—whom he has characterized as a "colleague, "friend" and "mentor"—on the nominees, Mayor Ron Sandack answered via Twitter:

"Chairman Cronin's picks. Nice to see good people interested in serving (and) be selected (and) see our Village profile continue to rise."
