Davenport, Grammich and Matune Represent 'Mutual Respect, Cooperation, Collaboration'

Woodridge resident endorses District 99 slate.

I am writing to express my support for the election of Mike Davenport, Cliff Grammich and Keith Matune to serve on the District 99 Board of Education. I am writing as a 45-year resident of Woodridge, past president of the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce, former District 68 school board member, as mother of six South High graduates and as grandmother of students currently attending both North High and South High.

I believe new faces are needed on the District 99 school board, as I believe the current school board is out of touch with core constituencies, including the Woodridge community, among others. I also believe the current board has not shown the civility, transparency and inclusiveness that will be needed to successfully meet the upcoming challenges our schools will surely face.

On the other hand, Mike, Cliff and Keith, have each taken the initiative and reached out to all corners of District 99 to spread their message of mutual respect, cooperation, collaboration and consensus building. Good schools are vital to the well being of our community and I am confident that Mike, Cliff and Keith will do an outstanding job as members of the District 99 Board of Education.
