Mayor to Deliver State of the Village Address Tonight

Other items include discussion on a final plat of subdivision, as well as an addendum to an earlier agreement with Joel Andersen Homes Ltd.

Mayor Ron Sandack is scheduled to deliver his fourth State of the Village address at tonight's Village Council meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave.

It will mark the second time Sandack has spoken on the village's 2010 achievements of in less than a week. He delivered the State of the Village speech to the Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday. The speech will be taped for further broadcast on DGTV, the village's cable channel.

Also on tonight's agenda are first readings of a rezoning ordinance and resolution for a final plat of subdivision for the Neuco Subdivision on 5101 Thatcher Road in the Ellsworth Industrial Park.

The applicant is BPJ Investments, LLC, and owner Paul J. Neustadt, who is a cousin of Commissioner Geoff Neustadt. The commissioner said he will read a statement tonight explaining his decision to recuse himself from any discussion or vote pertaining to the matter in order to avoid any hint or appearance of impropriety. Neustadt said he has not financial stake or gain BPJ Investments.

The council will also entertain a first reading of a resolution to a Subdivision Improvement Agreement with Joel Andersen and Joel Andersen Homes, Ltd.

The agreement concerns the Nelson Meadow subdivision in southwest Downers Grove. The resolution would divides the subdivision into two phases and also modify the timetable for completing certain public improvements, according to village documents.
