Neustadt Thanks Supporters, Invites Residents to Swearing In

Dear Family, Friends, and Neighbors,

It is with great honor and privilege that I write this note to you today. On April 5, 2011, I was victorious in my bid for re-election to the Downers Grove Village Council.

I want to thank all of the candidates who participated in the 2011 campaign for their desire to serve our village. Congratulations to Sean Durkin, Becky Rheintgen, and Martin Tully for earning the support of the Downers Grove residents and being elected to the Village Council.  

Thanks to the hard work of many campaign volunteers, contributors and supporters, I was once again the highest vote recipient with a total of 3,176 votes. As the candidate who received the most votes, this shows that my campaign and first term record has had a positive effect on the residents of the Village of Downers Grove. The future of Downers Grove is bright. I am ready to continue to listen to residents and business owners and work with my council colleagues and village staff to create a village that we can all be proud of.  

My first term was educational, full of new projects and programs, and at times challenging. Using the knowledge I have acquired since 2007 I can, along with the entire Village Council, work towards providing exceptional municipal services, financial stability, and an open and fair local government. I am extremely excited to serve again as your commissioner for the best village in DuPage County, the State of Illinois, and the United States! 

On Tuesday May 3, 2011 the current Village Council will meet and then adjourn to swear in the new council, myself, Mayor-Elect Tully, Commissioner-Elect Durkin, and our new member, Commissioner-Elect Rheintgen.  I would like to invite you to join me, my family, friends, and supporters at 7 p.m. May 3 at the Downers Grove Village Hall, 801 Burlington Ave., to witness the swearing in ceremony of the new Downers Grove Village Council.

This is a new beginning for some and a continuation of hard work for others. Together we have a solid council that will work towards making Downers Grove the best place to live, work, play, do business in, and grow as a community.
