On the Agenda: Village Council Meeting (2/21) (UPDATE)

At the petitioner’s request, Walgreens related items will not be discussed at tonight’s Village Council Meeting. Instead, these items will be placed on the March 6, 2012, Council Meeting agenda. This will allow time for the petitioner to respond to Village Council and resident concerns and questions.

The Village Council will hold its council meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers inside Village Hall. Highlights from the meeting's proposed agenda:

•On the active agenda, the council will likely vote on numerous ordinances and resolutions regarding the proposed Walgreens location on the northwest corner of 63rd and Woodward.

•Also on the active agenda, the council will vote on an ordinance establishing turn restrictions and Main and Maple.

•In first read, an ordinance to amend the FY2011 Village Budget will be presented.

•According to the Manager's Report, below is a North High School construction schedule, with a pre-construction meeting held in late April by D99 and the Village.

2/20/12—Demolition begins on houses on west side of school

3/15/12—Submit construction permit application and plans

Late April 2012—District 99 and Village staff will host a pre-construction neighborhood meeting

5/7/12—Removal of east parking lot begins; Construction of washroom facility (near stadium) begins; Construction of bus parking on the west side begins

6/4/12—Removal and reconstruction of Prince Street begins

8/24/12—The following work will be substantially complete for the opening of school: Completion of Washroom Facility, Prince St reconstruction complete, East parking lot complete, West parking lot complete

September/October 2012—Demolition of existing west parking lot begins; Construction of west field begins; Landscaping for east and west parking completed

Spring 2013—Completion of west field
