Sandack: Governor Should Call Special Session on Pension Reform

State Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) and other area legislators are holding a press conference Thursday to urge Gov. Pat Quinn to address Illinois' pension crisis.

State. Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove), Dennis Reboletti (R-Elmhurst) and other area legislators are urging Gov. Pat Quinn to address the pension crisis in Illinois.

The legislators are asking that Quinn call a special session each day until a comprehensive pension reform bill is passed.

A press conference will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Addison Village Hall Rotunda, One Friendship Plaza, to discuss the issue.

“All legislators have voted on some form of pension reform over the last five months, there is no reason not to call us back to Springfield," Sandack said in a release. "Wasting $17 million a day on a political stunt is unacceptable. Governor Quinn cutting pay for legislators is grandstanding and meaningless if we are not called back to session."
