'Toys For Tots' Collection Underway in Downers Grove

State Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove), Lemon Tree Grocer and Critical Technology Solutions will be "Toys for Tots" drop-off points.

The community is invited to help spread holiday cheer to those in need by participating in the "Toys for Tots" initiative.

State Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove), Lemon Tree Grocer and Critical Technology Solutions have teamed up to be drop-off points.

A national charity run by the U.S. Marines, Toys for Tots has a local chapter in Lombard.

“The holiday season is a time of happiness and giving," Sandack said. “While many families are fortunate enough to be able to buy gifts to celebrate the season with their children, there are still many who cannot. I encourage all those who can afford to do so, to please donate a gift to the Toys for Tots program so that every child has a happy holiday season.”

All donated toys should be new in its sealed box and dropped off unwrapped by Friday, Dec. 13.

Drop off locations and details are as follows:

   Downers Grove, IL 60515
   10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (box will be located outside office suite)

• The Lemon Tree Grocer
  935 W. Burlington Ave.
  Downers Grove, IL 60515
  8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (box will be located inside store foyer)

• Critical Technology Solutions
  1247 Warren Ave.
  Downers Grove, IL 60515
  8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (box will be located in front office space)
