Village Urges Voters to Check Polling Places

Polling places may have changed since last election.

From the website:

The DuPage County Election Commission, an independent, bipartisan government entity responsible for conducting all elections in the County, has announced new legislative and precinct boundaries that will affect many Downers Grove voters for the March 20, 2012 General Election Primary and beyond. As a result of data collected every ten years by the U.S. Census Bureau, federal, state and local legislative districts are redrawn to adjust for population shifts resulting in new precincts and new polling places for some voters.

The Village of Downers Grove encompasses parts of three different townships:  York, Lisle and Downers Grove. Voters in York and Lisle Townships will see few changes in their districts or polling places. However, in Downers Grove Township, 34 polling places were eliminated and 17 new polling places were added.

If you reside in Downers Grove Township, which is located south of 39th Street and east of Woodward Avenue, it is likely your polling place has changed.  In addition, your ballot may reflect a different congressional, legislative or county board district.

The DuPage County Election Commission has notified voters affected by these changes and will continue to do so prior to the March 20, 2012 General Primary Election.  Please pay close attention to these notices.
